Basics of furniture renovation 12.4.2025

10am-6pm in our workshop in New new studio

Our courses are usually held in Czech language, but the teachers speaks English - so you might skip the theoretical introduction about materials (1hour) or we tell you the basics, but then you can work as anyone else (we will check all the brought pieces of furniture together with the group and explain how to renovate them one by one) . If you are group of at least 5 people, we can do a course held completely in English.

Do you have a smaller piece of furniture that wants to be renovated? We will teach you basics of renovation.

First part is theoretical (cca 1 hour) – what is renovation about, how to work with different types of wood and wooden composites, veneer, little hacks... and then we'll jump into work – sanding, working with glue, fillers, waxes, paints...

Suitable furniture to bring

smaller pieces of wooden furniture (chairs, chests of drawers, bedside tables, stools, coffee tables, shelves, armrests,...)
veneered or solid furniture
we do not do upholstery in this course, that is a different craft and a different course
during the course we do not create new products, it is only a matter of surface treatments, repairs, furniture stabilization, repairs of smaller pieces of damaged veneer, removal of old varnish,...¨¨

ITS NECESSARY TO SEND TO tereza@sto-re.cz IMMEDIATELY OR ASAP A PICTURE OF THE PIECE YOU WANT TO WORK ON IN ORDER TO DISCUSS THE PIECE WITH OUR CARPENTER. NOT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. The email subject is your order number. Send us a photo of the whole piece and then details of damages (if it has any). Write us what's wrong with the piece and also what are your expectations (do you want the piece to be lighter, darker, painted to any colour or keep the wood texture visible,...).

Dresscode:) Its good to bring warm clothes you don't mind that will get dirty.

Price includes material, tools, equipment, theory and practical help from our carpenter, little snack - tea, coffee, sth sweet.

Cancellation of participation in the course

if canceled at least one week in advance, we will refund 100% of the course fee
If canceled 5 days in advance, we refund half of the amount.
Unfortunately, later cancellations can no longer be taken into account and the course fee is not refunded in such a case.
In the case of using a voucher, if you cancel your participation within 5 days, you can use an alternative date, if you cancel later, your voucher can't be used again.
However, you can find a replacement for yourself at any time, just write to us!
